JKAACL, GDC Kargil organize talent hunt contest

KARGIL, JULY 01: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with Government Degree College Kargil organized a music, painting, debate and essay writing competition here today.

Around 120 boys and girls students from Government Degree College Kargil participated in the day-long contests.

The programme was held in line with Academy’s pursuit for talent hunt among the students of different age groups in the field of music, visual arts and creative writing coupled with the objective to inculcate musical and painting skills among them.

Additional SP Kargil Arun Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion while as Assistant Commissioner Development Kargil, Barkat Ali Lone Nizami and Assistant Regional Transport Officer Leh and State Awardee in Singing, Khadim Hussain were the guest of honour and special guest respectively.

On the occasion, the chief guest distributed prizes and commendation certificates among the participants.

Speakers appreciated the role of Cultural Academy Kargil for having organized such competitions thereby providing students with an ideal platform to explore and showcase their talent.

The speakers also underline the need to hold similar programmes at other educational institutions across the district so that a maximum number of youngsters of the district get the opportunity to showcase their inherent capabilities.

Teaching and non-teaching staff of Degree College Kargil besides a large number of students attended the programme.
