UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 01: Forest Department organized a Plantation drive here at Village Kirmoo Tehsil Ramnagar and planted over 1500 saplings of different pan species.
The massive plantation drive witnessed plantation of saplings of important ornamental, shady, medicinal and fruit trees in the village Kirmoo.
Speaking on the occasion, DFO, Chander Shekhar said that trees and forests are closely linked with weather patterns and also the maintenance of a crucial balance in nature .He further said that the need of the hour is to protect our environment through planting new trees and taking care of the existing ones .
While Highlighting the importance of forests, the Block Development Officer, Dr. Manmeet Kumar urged the common masses to plant more and more plants in the areas so that the balance in nature could be maintained. He enumerated the important role played by the trees in maintaining balance in nature and asked the people to spread this message all over the area.
Among others present were Panchayat Secretary, Aslam Tak and other officers/officials of concerned departments besides prominent citizen were present on the occasion.
