Secy Social Welfare reviews Departmental functioning in Ladakh region
LEH, NOVEMBER 30: Secretary Social Welfare Department, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, today convened a meeting to take stock of departmental functioning besides progress in the implementation of various welfare schemes in Leh and Kargil districts.
The meeting took threadbare stock of Pension schemes and State Marriage Assistance Scheme.
Later, Dr Lone visited Bal Ashram and Nari Niketan Leh to take stock of facilities provided to the inmates at these places.
Secretary also visited Anganwadi centres and advised Mission Director to explore the possibilities of replicating best practice of setting up AWCs in school premises in other parts of the state.
MD ICDS Veerji Hangloo, District Programme Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and CDPO were also present.
