DH Rajouri observes World AIDS Day

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 01: To spread awareness about the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), District Hospital Rajouri organized a function here to observe the World AIDS Day.

The day is marked by the World Health Organisation as a global public health campaign. The federal theme for the 2018 observance is “Saving Lives through Leadership and Partnerships.”

Medical Superintendent Dr. Mehmood H Bajar said that World AIDS Day is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV and show their support for people living with HIV.

The Superintendent added that a total of 3219 patients have been screened for HIV Virus in Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre at District Hospital Rajouri from January 2018 to November 2018 of which 9 cases were found HIV Reactive.

The Medical superintendent further added that a total of 19 patients are taking Anti Retro Viral Therapy from Link ART (Anti Retroviral Therapy) Centre at District Hospital Rajouri, of which 6 are male, 10 are female and 3 are children.
