Baramulla, Nov 2: Three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) were arrested during a naka checking in apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir, official sources said on Friday.
Security forces and state police last evening established a naka checking on a tip-off about the movement of militants at Chatlora, Rafiabad, in Sopore.
However, a motorcyclist with two pillion mates tried to fled away when signaled by naka party to stop, the sources said, adding that after a long chase, all the three were overpowered.
During preliminary questioning, the arrested youths said they are working as OGWs of LeT. The arrested were identified as Akthar Rasool Lone, Tariq Ahmed Tantary, Irfan Ahmed Ashraf Dar son of Mohammad Ashraf, all residents of Reban Rafiabad.
An FIR number 149/2018 under section 7/25, 13 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act was registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigations were taken up.
