Government forces on Tuesday morning launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, hours after militants appeared in a local mosque.
Reports said that the CASO was launched after a few militants appeared at a local mosque after Isha (night) prayers yesterday. The militants, reports said, had challenged the forces to arrest them.
A local resident said that the militants also told people to stay alert as the forces were “planning to arrest several youth from the town.”
Meanwhile, Internet has been suspended in the area.
Searches were going on when last reports came.
