Three militants were killed on Saturday in an encounter with security forces in Bandipora district of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K). The joint operation by Indian Army and J&K Police led to recovery of large scale arms and ammunition. “Based on inputs of the presence of some Pakistani terrorists, an operation was launched by security forces. On September 1, we eliminated all 3 terrorists. We lost a brave heart Rifleman Shive Kumar of 15 J&K Light Infantry in the operation. Lance Naik Manoj of 31 Rashtriya Rifles was also injured in the encounter,” said Brigadier V. Hariharan, Commander, Watlab Sector on yesterday’s Bandipora encounter.
