Jammu, Nov 3 : Police on Saturday arrested one driver with contraband of poppy straw in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
“Acting on tip off, a nakka was laid at Jakheni on Jammu-Srinagar national highway,” police here said.
They said that one Punjab number Mahindra Balero was intercepted at the check point during frisking, 112-kg of poppy straw was seized.
Police added that the driver identified as Prem Chand, son of Ram Kewal, resident of Mohali Punjab was arrested on the spot and a case under NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.
