Chandigarh, December 2: Two persons, including a woman, have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) with 414 gm of heroin. The suspects were nabbed while riding a Toyota Innova at the Dappar toll plaza near Dera Bassi.
NCB officials said they had a tip-off about the suspects smuggling drugs following which they were nabbed at the toll plaza today. The drug was concealed in the trunk of the Innova.
“Their interrogation revealed that the drug was brought from Delhi and was supposed to be sold in Zirakpur and Chandigarh,” said Kuldeep Sharma, Superintendent, NCB.
The officials said the 31-year-old suspect was a taxi driver, who was residing at Baltana, Zirakpur, while the woman was 25 years old and a native of Solan in Himachal Pradesh, who was also residing in Zirakpur. The duo was operating in the tricity for the past one year.
