UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER-03: – District Legal Services Authority, under the supervision of its Chairman Sanjay Parihar, today organized an awareness cum distribution camp in collaboration with District Social Welfare Office to promote an understanding of disability issues to mark celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Secretary (Sub-Judge), District Legal Service Authority, Sandeep Kour, apprised the public about their legal rights.
District Social Welfare Officer, Sana Khan, said that the Department of Social Welfare in its efforts to reach out to the maximum number of beneficiaries will soon organize various awareness cum distribution camps in the far-flung areas of the district. She further informed that such a camp is also being organized by the department in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India.
During the camp, two persons namely Shobha Devi and Ashu were provided wheel chairs while Madan lal was given a walking stick besides hearing aids were also given to identified beneficiaries.
Staff of Social Welfare Department and District Hospital, Para Legal Volunteers, eminent persons of the civil society and beneficiaries were present on the occasion.
