BUDGAM, DECEMBER 03: – The Additional District Development Commissioner Budgam, Khursheed Ahmad Sanaie today convened a meeting of Rural Development Department Budgam to review the implementation of flagship programmes including Antyodya scheme and Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) which is to be introduced under various flagship programmers/welfare schemes across the district.
The meeting was attended by District Panchayat Officer, all BDOs, Panchayat secretaries, gram sevaks and other concerned.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC urged the implementing agencies, particularly BDOs and Panchayat Secretaries to demonstrate their desire and commitment in implementing all the schemes/programmes envisaged under GPDP and Antyodya in letter and spirit so that benefits shall reach to the targeted population at the grass root level.
He said that the Department of Rural Development is mandated to uplift the living conditions of poor and underprivileged communities. He said there are scope and opportunities available to both flagship programmes, particularly keeping in view the impending expediencies scenario in the Panchayat Raj Act as all the budgetary locations for executing works will be routed through local Panchayat plans. Similarly under Antyodya flagship programme, the ADDC impressed upon all the concerned to complete all requisite formalities including identification of areas and list of beneficiaries block-wise at an earliest, so that opportunities and facilities available for improvement in medical facilities, school up gradations, better road connectivity, improvement in electricity and ration distribution could be affected and accordingly will reach to the needy people who are solely dependent on government help for their endurance.
