Authorities have started face lifting the summer capital of Srinagar as civil secretariat is all set to re-open on 7th of May.
The work is being carried out by various government agencies. Officials said that the roads and estate buildings are going to be the main focus of the authorities.
Roads leading to the civil secretariat are being renovated while footpaths and roadsides in Lal Chowk and adjoining areas are being cleared of encroachments before the re-opening of the civil secretariat here.
The anti-encroachment drive has been intensified while painting of different city roads have been completed.
An official in the Estate department said that apart from streets, ministers’ official bungalows and quarters of employees are also getting a face lift.
