DC Kargil chairs public grievance redressal camp

KARGIL, JULY 04: Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal today chaired a public grievances redressal camp at Taisuru village to get the first-hand appraisal of public grievances.

On the occasion, several deputations from Taisuru village and other adjacent areas included Kochik, Khaws, Achombar, Choskorbmochan, Maita, Paranty, Namasuru and Kargee appraised the DC about their grievances wherein he issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for their immediate redressal.

Councillors, LAHDA Kargil Ghulam Mohammad and Sayeed Abass, a team of district administration including Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil, Nambardars, prominent citizens of block Taisuru and number of people attended the public darbar.

The main demands presented before the DC were the up-gradation of basic infrastructural facilities like roads for better connectivity, electricity, water, healthcare, installation of mobile towers, opening of Girls Higher Secondary School in Taisuru block and provision of availability of adequate staff in all PHCs, educational institutions besides toilet facilities.

The DC gave a patient hearing to the public demands during which he assured the people that proper perusal of all genuine demands will be fulfilled in due course of time.

He highlighted the need for active participation of people from different walks of life towards keeping administration always accountable for resolving their issues and suggested coordination and cooperation of the district administration as an effective method of good and responsive governance.

During the camp, Power Development Department authorities informed that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Receiving Station at Namsuru has been prepared and submitted to the concerned quarters. It was also given out that the construction work on Ponikhar to Tangole 11 KV Line will be started this year. New DG set has been sent to the village as buffer stock, the PDD informed.

Responding to the demand with regard to the development of the Primary Health Centre, Ponikhar, the DC asked the R&B and RDD departments to inspect site and prepare an estimate and submit the same to the concerned for arrangement of funds.

The DC also directed the education department to construct the toilet block in the premises of Higher Secondary School, Ponikhar.

Replying to the demand of installation of mobile towers in Taisuru block, Kundal said that 50 locations have already been identified in both Zanskar and Kargil areas and work on the same will be started soon.

Taking stock of 22.54 Kms road length of Improvement of Riding Quality Programme (IRQP) in National Highway-301, the DC directed the R&B department to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of work on the project and ensure completion of 15 Kms of road length with macadamization during the current year.

Livestock-related issues were also raised during the darbar. The DC directed the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments to station a team of doctors in the area to check the deceases of livestock.

During the tour, en route several deputations met the Deputy Commissioner and apprised him of their demands. At Yuljuk Thang village, the DC instructed the PHE authorities to install water hand-pump in the area.
