Three narcotic smugglers arrested in Jammu and Kashmir

The sleuths of Narcotics Control Bureau have arrested three Kashmir based smugglers with a contraband of heroin worth crores at J&K-Punjab Border at Lakhanpur in Kathua district.

Police sources on Tuesday said that acting on a tip-off, the NCB team on Monday intercepted a car at Lakhanpur, which was heading from Kashmir towards Punjab.

They said that three youths from Kashmir were arrested on the spot, after heroin weighing 22-kg worth Rs 88 crores in the international market were seized from their possession.

“All arrested smugglers belonged to Kashmir and they were smuggling heroin to neighbouring Punjab,” they said, adding that a case has been registered and investigation started, while more arrests cannot be ruled out
