Srinagar, Oct 4: Normal life remained paralysed on sixth consecutive day in many villages of the south Kashmir’s Kulgam district against the establishment of a new army camp at Redwani village.

Reports said that the area witnessed a complete shutdown from past five days, no traffic movement was seen on the roads either. The areas including Qaimoh, Khudwani, Redwani, Ghat, Hawoora, and Mishpoora have been demanding the removal of an havingarmy garrison in Redwani village in Kulgam.

The village according to the residents is surrounded by two army camps within a radius of 3 kilometers. According to the residents, the vihasa population of more than ten thousand souls from nearly 1100 residential houses “is in total insecurity just because of the army camp.”

Earlier, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq termed the setting up of an army camp in Redwani as a matter of concern. Mirwaiz’s spokesman earlier said that setting up camps within the radius of just three kilometers is a ploy to instill fear among the residents of south Kashmir.
