DC Rajouri interacts with contesting Sarpanch, Panch candidates at Koteranka

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 04: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today interacted with the contesting Sarpanch and Panch candidates of Panchayat Elections here at Kotranka.

Apart from contesting candidates, the meeting was attended by people from Budhal, Rajnagar and Khawas blocks.

Pertinently, the election in `these blocks will be held during the 7th phase of the panchayat elections. In Block Budhal there are 35 panchayat halqas and 283 panch constituencies, while Rajnagar block has 11 panchayat halqas and 91 panch constituencies and Khawas block has 15 panchayat halqas and 121 panch constituencies.

During the interaction, the Deputy Commissioner advised the contesting Candidates to follow the model code of conduct in letter and spirit for smooth conduct of polls.

The DC also informed them that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free and fair manner.

He said flying squads have been constituted to check any violation of the model code of conduct, while Chief Electoral Officer has deployed general observers and expenditure observers to ensure strict implementation of MCC during the election campaign.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas, ADC kotranka Ved Parkash and other sectoral officers from Budhal, Rajnagar and Khawas.
