PV Sindhu missed out on a chance to create history as she lost in the World Badminton Championships to Spain’s Carolina Marin. Had she won, she would have been the first Indian to win the title.
Sindhu lost in the final last year too. She had to settle for a silver when a gold was beckoning. The Spaniard beat her 19-21, 10-21. Marin had also beaten her in the Olympic final in 2016.
Sindhu gave it her all but was no match for Marin who brought her best game forward. Yet another title fell out of her grasp.
