BARAMULLA, AUGUST 04: Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Baba today convened a meeting of officers from Revenue, Municipal Committees and other departments to review the progress of anti-encroachment drive in the district.
During the meeting, the ADC directed the concerned officers to strictly ensure removal of illegal encroachments on pasture land, state and kahchari land, National Highway (NH), banks of river Jhelum and other water bodies.
The meeting was informed that teams have already been formulated for the purpose. ADC directed all the SDMs and Tehsildars of the district to start an intense drive on daily basis to expedite the drive.
The SDMs informed the ADC about progress on the removal of encroachments in their respective jurisdictions.
The meeting was also informed that a total of 350 kanals of encroached land has been retrieved, while as 62 kanals of encroached pasture land was also retrieved so far.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bashir Ahmad Bhat, SDM Uri Baseer-ul Haq, SDM Pattan Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Deputy DEO, Tehsildars, Eos and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
