Kishtwar 7th December-2018 :In a major achievement District Police Kishtwar today arrested a person namely Sehran Sheikh @ Abu Zubair S/O Ghulam Abbas Sheikh R/O Malipeth Kishtwar working as an agent for Pakistan and was gathering information about the establishments of J&K Police, Armed Forces and Army deployment within District Kishtwar.
According to the reports reaching PAIGAAM, Sehran’s handler was an ISI agent sitting across the border in Pakistan and had close ties with Harkat-Ul-Mujahideen.
During preliminary questioning Sehran Sheikh relvealed that he was asked to gather information on Police, Armed Forces and other security establishments. He had also been given the task of ascertaining soft targets in the area for attacks.
A senior police officers on the conditions of annonomity told PAIGAAM that Sehran has confessed to his involvement and police has recovered many videos from him including those of various establishments of para-military forces.
Police has also been able to track the videos that Sehran has shared on Pakistan numbers using mobile applications and other internet based platforms.
With this arrest police has managed to avert many attacks that were being planned to be executed in the district of Kishtwar and surrounding areas. Sustained interrogation is expected to reveal much more information hence police is treating very carefully in this case.
