PATNA: After Union Minister Jayant Sinha now another Union Minister, Giriraj Singh, from BJP has landed himself in a controversy after showing support for riots-accused leaders, whom he visited in Bihar’s Nawada jail.

Giriraj Singh met the jailed right-wing leaders on Saturday and met the family of an accused of communal clashes in Nawada.

Bajrang Dal’s Jitendra Pratap and VHP’s Kailash Vishwakarma were arrested this week for their alleged role in the Ram Navmi clashes of April 2017, in which the police had lodged cases against some leaders in several districts.

The BJP has already expressed its unhappiness over the crackdown on scores of leaders over the violence that started after religious posters were found torn. After the visit, Mr Singh attacked the Nitish Kumar government, accusing it of witch-hunt.
