Drug peddler was arrested with contraband of poppy straw in this winter capital of the state.
“Police during a routine naka checking at Panjtirthi on circular road, apprehend one pedestrian coming from Sidhra towards city,” police here said.
They said that during the search of the persons namely, Surinder Sha, resident of Naridan Vihar, Maqsudan, Jallandher Nagra, Punjab, 4.5 kg of poppy straw (Bhukki) was recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile he was arrested on the spot and a case under NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.
