DDC Ramban flags off mobile van for awareness under SSG-2018

RAMBAN, AUGUST 09: District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today flagged off a publicity mobile van to make the public aware about Swachh Bharat and Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG)-2018, here at an impressive awareness programme.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Gurvinder Jeet Singh, ACR Vevaik Puri, ACD G H Kripak, DPO, Tariq Suhrwardy and other officer were present on the occasion.

The DDC said that the awareness programme is a part of the nation-wide campaign on SSG – 2018 a rural cleanliness programme of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS).

He stressed upon the officers and officials carrying the campaign to sensitize the general masses especially student community about water conservation and cleanliness.

Appreciating the organizers- the RDD, the DDC said that such types of programme will boost the tendency of people to save water besides maintaining sanitation.

He added that it should be our first priority to save and develop the water resources for future generation as well. He also focused on the issue of global warming and asked the people to plant more and more trees for protecting the environment and natural resources.

Officers, officials and public present on the occasion took an oath of Swachta.

The speakers encouraged the participants to use Swachhta App as it can play a vital role in keeping the city clean and achieving the dream of Swachh Bharat. They were told that unhygienic condition can create health problems so it is every one’s duty to keep the surroundings clean.
