Health department employees rally in Bandipora to demand probe into woman’s death

Scores of health employees of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday carried out a protest march to demand a thorough probe into what they called as murder of their female colleague.

The protesters alleged that their colleague was burnt alive by her in-laws at their home in Ahamsharief village of the district.

The protesting employees raised slogans to demand an impartial investigation into the case.

Rehana Gulzar, a mother of three kids died mysteriously due to burn injuries on October 7 at her in-laws’ home.

“Unfortunately one of our colleague was burnt by her in-laws. We have carried out this protest really to demand justice for our colleague. A CBI inquiry should be carried out in this case and justice be delivered to her, ” demanded Fayaz Ahmad, a protesting health employee.

The deceased woman was working as FMPHW in Bandipora health department.

The protestors carried out the rally from the home of the deceased in Nusoo to Gulshan chowk Bandipora.
The in laws of the deceased woman have claimed that Gulzar committed suicide.
