Karnataka Government assured all possible help to flood affected neighbouring Kerala. Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has directed Chief Secretary TM Vijayabhaskar to send relief materials worth Rs.10 crore and team of doctors to Kerala.
Chief Minister’s office tweeted, “Incessant rains have caused floods and land slides in Kerala, leading to a loss of more than 20 lives. Discussed the situation with @CMOKerala Pinarayi Vijayan and offered all possible help from Karnataka,including medical aid. We stand with our neighbours at this hour of need.”

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan describing the situation as “very grim”. Heavy rains for the past two days and release of water from the Idamalayar dam on Wednesday, resulted into localised flooding in low-lying areas in the northern districts of Kerala.
