UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 10: – To observe National Deworming Day, District Health society Udhampur organized a programme here at Govt. High School and distributed de-worming tablets among the children of 1-19 years age.
District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion who formally inaugurated the campaign by administering de worming efficacious drug to the girl students.
Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur Dr K C Dogra, District social Welfare Officer, Vipin Bhagat, CDPO Udhampur, Yash Sharma, Medical Superintendent DH Udhampur, Dr.VijayBasnotra, Dy. Chief Medical Officer, Dr. S.D Atri, District Immunization Officer, Dr. Santosh Sharma, District Health Officer, Dr. Janak Raj, BMO Tikri, Dr J D, Head Master High School Garhi, DPMU NHM ,RBSK team of Block Tikri were also present on the occasion.
In his address, DDC said that the main aim of observing mass deworming day is to reach all children between the age of 1-19 years. Highlighting the importance of deworming, the DDC said that it improves their overall health, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life. He further said that administration has made elaborated arrangements for the distribution of Albendazole deworming tablets among the children in convergence with Health, Education, ICDS and Social Welfare Departments.
He asked the field functionaries involved in the campaign to aware the common masses about the programme and ask them to keep surroundings clean and hygienic to prevent such diseases.
Chief Medical officer briefed that the campaign will cover around 2.40 lakh children in the age group of 1-19 year in the district. The left-out students if any will be covered during the mop up round scheduled for August 17,2018.
