JAMMU, MAY 11: A Screening Health Camp of RBSK was inaugurated at Government Higher Secondary School Pouni by ADC Babu Ram in presence of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Parminder Singh.
During the screening health camp, 8 mobile health teams provided consultation to 1027 children from various schools & anganwadi Centers. Specialists consultations was provided to 226 children, out of which 2 children were found with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), 10 Otitis Media, 3 Neuro Motor Impairment, 2 Developmental Delay of Hip (DDH), 1 Down Syndrome ,1 Cataract, 9 Deafness (Hearing Impairment), 41 Visual Impairment & 151 Dental Problems, 3 ptotis, 1 reactive airway.
During the camp, all the children were given free deworming tablets, age appropriate Vitamin A doses and refreshments. Free medicines were given to 564 children suffering with minor ailments. Adolescent girls were given counseling on Menstrual Hygiene. Further 62 adults were provided Health checkups and given free medicines.
Information regarding various health programmes of National Health Mission was provided by Dr. Narinder Bhutial and a team of Psychologist, AFHC / NCD Counsellor, District ASHA Coordinator & Physiotherapist.
