BJP SLAMS OMAR ABDULLAH FOR HIS TWEET ON SHAH FAESAL CONTROVERSY

The BJP unit of Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP chose to slam the ex-chief minister of J&K and Vice President of national conference, Omar Abdullah for supporting the IAS officer Shah Faesal over his controversial tweets related to rape, The BJP Jammu unit attacked the former chief minister for politicising and communalising the issue.

J&K State spokesperson of BJP, Anil Gupta alleged that the tweets of 2010-batch IAS officer Faesal Shah, were “mischievous” and proclaimed Shah to be an “errant officer” who has been tweeting many anti establishment statements for quite some time now. “Abdullah is not only supporting Faesal’s tweet in which he termed India ‘Rapistan’ but is also attempting to politicise and trivialise the issue by selectively quoting from the show cause notice issued to him,” Gupta said in a statement.

BJP spokesperson of the state unit further added that said by backing Shah Faesal, the errant officer,Omar Abdullah had intentionally politicised the issue. “In a serious matter of breach of discipline by an IAS officer who is bound by rules of conduct, Abdullah is trivialising the entire issue and also attempting to communalise it,” he stated.

Earlier, disciplinary action notice had been issued agaisnt Shah Faesal over his ‘rapistan tweet. The General Administration Department issued a show cause notice to Shah and initiated the diciplinary proceedings according to the direction given by the Centre’s Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Omar Abdullah had come out in support of the 2010-batch IAS exam topper, by questioning the issued notice.

Former chief minister of J&K had tweeted – “Looks like DOPT is determined to chase @shahfaesal out of the civil services. The last line of this page is shocking & unacceptable where they question Faesal’s ‘integrity & honesty’. How is a sarcastic tweet dishonest? How does it make him corrupt?”.

The J&K unit of BJP has criticized the Omar Abdullah’s tweet as being a deliberate attempt to politicize the issue and accused him for giving a communal colour to the issue.
