DC Anantnag discusses issues of forest land

ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 11: The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik chaired a meeting of the officers of Forest, Ecology & Environment, Revenue, Wildlife and Pollution Control Board Anantnag, today, in order to discuss the issues regarding plantation, demarcation and anti – encroachment drive of forests.

Threadbare discussions with regard to afforestation, deforestation, demarcation, fencing of forest land, forest fires and Brick-kiln pollution were held in the meeting.

The DC Anantnag instructed the concerned officers to visit, identify and demarcate the vulnerable forest areas for anticipation and quick rehabilitation, and share the details with the office. He also directed for taking legal actions against the illegal Brick-kilns operating in the district. He stressed upon the officers to work in close coordination with each other for better results on ground.

Among others the meeting was attended by ADC Anantnag, SDMs of Bijbehara, Kokernag, Dooru, Regional Wildlife Warden South Circle Anantnag, DFOs of Anantnag, Lidder Division Bijbehara, Social Forestry Division Anantnag, Soil Conservation Anantnag, District Officer Pollution Control Board Anantnag and Tehsildars of Shangus, Mattan and Anantnag.
