Four people, including a woman, died due to asphyxiation after slipping into a sewage trench in Uttersoo area of Shangus in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday.
Reports said that a woman, identified as Shameema, wife of Muhammad Maqbool Khan, died at Uttersoo hospital after falling into the trench in Khanpora village.
Three others, identified as Sabzar Ahmad, Umar Gul and Zahid Ahmad, were shifted to district hospital Anantnag where they succumbed.
Two others persons were injured after falling inside the trench. They are being treated at a hospital, said a local.
