A 30-year-old man arrested in south Kashmir’s Anantnag town last month was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to a jail in Jammu on Friday.
An official said that Sheikh Sartaj of Anchidora area of Anantnag town was shifted to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu today.
He was arrested after clashes erupted against the killing of five militants in a gunfight in Chowgam area of Devsar in Kulgam district.
A resident of Anchidora, identified as Rouf Ahmad Ganaie of Al Farooq Colony, was killed in forces’ action on protesters.
The official said that Sartaj is also a lower rung Tehreek-e-Hurriyat activist.
