BUDGAM, MAY 12: District Developmental Commissioner (DDC), Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik today convened a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for ensuing holy month of Ramadan.

During the meeting, DDC directed the concerned to constitute special market checking squads to keep the check on profiteering, hoarding and black-marketing.

He directed FCS&CA Budgam to ensure strict implementation of government approved rate list besides the hassle-free home delivery of gas supply to the consumers.

The DDC said that special teams should be constituted at Sub- Divisional Magistrate level to conduct regular market checking and book the erring vendors, shopkeepers, and traders for violating the rate list during the holy month.

He directed concerned to ensure availability of essential commodities in the market including vegetables and poultry besides timely supply of Gas, Kerosene, Flour and Sugar from the government depots to the consumers.

Stressing on the uninterrupted power and water supply across the district, DDC asked XENs of PDD and PHE to sensitize their ground level staff to ensure that there is hassle-free water and electricity supply to the consumers during the Ramadan.

Emphasizing on the sanitation of towns and municipality areas, DDC directed concerned to launch special cleanliness drive in the district with the focus on roads, lanes, drains and regular lifting of wastage from markets.

The DDC also asked the concerned to install new and repair defunct street lights and high mast lights at Mosques and Imam Baras of the district.

Further, DDC directed concerned to ensure plying of public transport during evening times in all towns for the commuters.
