Chandigarh, 14 November, 2018. A delegation of the Construction Worker Union Chandigarh led by Sh. Davesh Moudgil Mayor of Chandigarh including Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Ex – MP BJP, and Additional Solicitor General of India today met Sh. VP Singh Badnore, the Administrator of UT Chandigarh and urged him to construct a “Majdoor Bhawan” at Labour Chowk in Sector 44 Chandigarh.
The other members of the delegation included Sh. Ram Lal Ex–BJP Councillor and President of the Union, Sh. Gopal Papu Shukla General Secretary of the Union, Sh. Ram Das, Sh. Gaya Prasad and Sh. Joginder Prasad.
The delegation explained to the Governor that there are Bhawans for almost all sections of society in Chandigarh including Industrialists and Kissans but there is no Bhawan for thousands of labourers working in various parts of the Chandigarh. Therefore there is a need of a good Majdoor Bhawan to be constructed in Chandigarh so that the poor labourers can make use of it for their social functions. The delegation said that the Association has also submitted a memorandum to the administrator in this regard.
Davesh Moudgil Mayor Chandigarh assured the Administrator that the Muncipal Corporation Chandigarh shall give all possible help and facilities which are required for this purpose.
VP Singh Badnore Administrator UT Chandigarh gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured the delegation that the Administration will consider this issue sympathetically.
