A pre conference workshop on“HUMAN GAIT ANALYSIS” had been conducted on 14TH December in the newly established, state of the art GAIT LAB at PHYSIOTYHERAPY DEPARTMENT, New OPD PGIMER,Chandigarh. The workshop had been conducted by DR. MONICA CHHABRA,SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST,PGIMER CHANDIGARH.25 delegates from different hospitals, universities and colleges attended the workshop, among them some prominent professionals are PROF.A.G.K.SINHA(Dean faulty of medicine,Punjabi university,Patiala),PROF.PARAMVEER SINGH (sports department of Punjabi university, Patiala),PROF.D.N.BID (SURAT UNIVERSITY).The motion capture system of GAIT LAB helps in identifying movement disorders and is a gold standard research tool. The workshop emphasized the importance of 3D ANALYSIS OF HUMAN GAIT(WALKING AND RUNNING PATTERN) IN NORMAL AND PATHOLOGICAL CONDITIONS.The workshop are helpful in finding the clinical implication OF GAIT ANALYSIS IN REHABILITATION OF SPORT INJURIES,NEUROLOGICAL AND LOCOMOTOR DEFICIT PATIENTS.
The head Prof M.S.Dhillon, President of Indian association of physiotherapy (IAP), Chandigarh Branch Dr Pradeep Kumar Sarkar and the organizing Secretary of IAP Dr Upendra Nath Goswami said that the conference had highly informative about recent trends in physiotherapy.
