In a rare incident of rape, a 27-year-old woman has been arrested for raping a teenager in Kumily in Idukki.
The woman has been arrested under the Provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
According to the sources, it was the women only who had initially approached the police and lodged a complaint against a 17 year old boy for allegedly raping her and impregnating her in the process. She had also accused boy of physically torturing her.
It was on her complaint only that the Peermedu Police summoned the boy to the station. However the police found certain discrepancies in the woman’s version and submitter her to sustained questioning and found that the said boy was working as a door checker in a private bus in which the lady used to travel regularly.They got to know each other and eventually fell in love.
Both of them started living together. However after sometime differences started to crop up between the couple and the boy decided to move back to his own house.
The lady tried to persuade the boy to return and resume the relationship but the boy refused to budge which led to the lady threatening him of filing a complaint against him. when the boy did not agree to her requests and did not respond to her threats too, the lady decided to lodge a compliant against the boy.
Evidently the lady did not know that the boy was under age and fell into her own trap and has been detained for rape charges.
