JAMMU, JULY 15: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma who is also Chairman Regional Red Cross Society today inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation (SNCF) in collaboration with Indian Red Society Jammu Region and Blood Transfusion Department GMCH at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Akhnoor here today.
About 70 volunteers donated blood on the occasion.
Among others, Honorary Secretary Indian Red Cross Society Jammu, Dinesh Gupta, Zonal Incharge SNCF Ajit Singh, SDM Akhnoor, doctors, paramedical staff of GMCH besides senior citizens and a large number of volunteers were present on the occasion.
Divisional Commissioner while speaking on the occasion lauded the gesture of SNCF and Red Cross Society for organizing regular blood donation camps. He appreciated philanthropic initiatives of the SNCF, saying that the organization is doing yeoman’s service for the mankind by organizing blood donation camps and other social events.
Earlier, Div Com was briefed about the activities and initiatives of the Mission and informed that the main objective of the Mission was to maintain peace, unity and development of the mankind across the globe and numerous initiatives have been undertaken in this direction.
Sanjeev Verma urged SNCF to organize plantation and cleanliness drives in the region to save the environment from pollution. He said that the ongoing season is the best time for plantation of saplings adding that government will provide necessary assistance in this regard.
