CEC Leh Warns Employees Of Strict Action In Case Of Any Complain

Leh: CEC LAHDC, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, after being elected as the new Chairman of 5th Hill Council, appointed and formally assigned Executive Councilor seats with portfolios to three elected Councilors, in a meeting held today at Council Secretariat.

After the creation of the new post of Deputy Chairman, LAHDC taken by Gyal P Wangyal, the posts of Executive Councilors have reduced from four to three seats. Of the three seats, two seats have been retained by former ECs, Councilor Panamik Tsering Sandup and Councilor Chuchot Mumtaz Hussain while Phunchok Stanzin, Councilor Skurbuchan has joined as the newly appointed Executive Councilor.

Speaking about the recent amendment in LAHDC Act, Namgyal said that the fulfillment of this long pending demand has ascertained greater financial and administrative power to Hill Council. He assured Council under his leadership and support from the Councilors of ruling as well as opposition parties and senior leaders they will set an exemplary model of good governance in the remaining two years term.

He expressed his commitment to fulfill the developmental aspirations of the public and assured development at grass root level considering ground realities. He asserted that with the creation of the new post of Deputy Chairman, Council can work more efficiently in tackling problems and running policies related to peoples’ welfare with effective results to be seen at ground level.

Namgyal mentioned about the district fund becoming non-lapsable under the amendment of LAHDC Act and said that it is a great opportunity to expedite developmental works and take new projects ensuring quality work & amendment in LAHDC Act has also brought State Government employees under the control of Council.

He added that Council will have no interference or undue treatment with the employees but warned of strict action in case of any complain made against them by the public.
