Shimla, November 16: Former chairperson of Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Major General CM Sharma (retd) allegedly committed suicide by shooting him at his residence in Jakhoo area of Shimla late last night.
He was under depression and sleeping in another room alone and was found dead on Friday morning by his wife when she opened the room.
In the suicide note recovered by the police, the deceased attributed his extreme action to his ailing health, DSP Pramod Shukla said.
A case has been registered and police are on the spot.
He was the chairperson of HPPSC from 2009 to 2013. He is survived by two sons and wife.
