Chandigarh , November 17, 2018 : Hero of Historic Battle of Longewala, Maha Vir Chakra winner Brigadier Kuldip Singh Chandpuri passed away today at Fortis Hospital Mohali. He was suffering from Cancer . He was 78 . He is survived by his wife and three sons.
His nephew Mr Mohan , owner of Akme Builders told media that he died in the hospital around 9.am today.
Brigadier Kuldip Singh Chandpuri MVC, VSM iwas a retired officer in the Indian Army. He was known for his heroic leadership in the famous Battle of Longewala, for which he was awarded Maha Vir Chakra by the Government of India.
