High-speed Mobile Internet service was suspended in several parts of Kashmir valley on Saturday where Panchayat elections are underway.
Reports said that the speed of mobile Internet was throttled to 2G in Budgam, Baramulla and Bandipora districts while the data service was completely blocked in Kupwara district.
Meanwhile, polling is underway for the first phase of panchayat elections amid a shutdown called by the separatist leadership against the elections.
At least 47 panchayat blocks went to the polls in the first phase in a nine-phased election process.
Officials said that the election will be held in 16 blocks in Kashmir, 21 blocks in Jammu and 10 in Ladakh region on Saturday.
