Er. Rasheed continues to be in detention

Such measures cannot break our will to fight for justice ………Spokesman

Srinagar 17 December: Condemning Er. Rasheed’s continuous detention in Police station Kothibagh, AIP Spokesman Advocate Maajid Banday has said that such suppressive measures will not work and New Delhi cannot hide its colonial aggression by all its inhuman acts. In a statement issued today, the spokesman said “Since party had planned a peaceful sit-in in front of Army Headquarters at Badami Bagh to protest against Pulwama killings and against misuse of AFSPA, Er. Rasheed’s continuous detention speaks of the frustration among the state administration, which is being run by men in uniform and other civilian authorities do exist only on papers. If New Delhi through its proxies doesn’t allow even to raise voice against shameful massacres like one took place in Pulwama, where is the space for any political process. The way Army Chief General Bipin Rawat is threatening Kashmiris since last two days is ample proof to conclude that coming days will be more tough for Kashmiris and men in uniform have been given absolute free hand to kill Kashmiris by calling them militants, stone palters, OGW’s and miscreants. Governor Mr. Satpal Malik and his team of advisors have simply become mouth pieces of security agencies and seem to be keen bent on distorting the facts”. Spokesman added that such oppressive measures cannot break the resolve of Kashmiris as truth lies on their side and they are victims of state terrorism.
