GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 17: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for Republic Day 2019 celebration.
Highlighting the importance of the Republic Day, the Deputy Commissioner, while impressing upon the Officers to maintain coordination, stressed that the committees already formulated will re-check all the arrangements put in place. He directed the Officers to ensure the presence of all employees working in the district at the Republic Day function.
Meanwhile, Dr. Singla directed the sectorial officers to ensure their active participation to make the celebration a big success. Preparation and consolidation of the main venue ground, rostrum, arrangements regarding security, seating arrangements, drinking water and uninterrupted electricity supply, barricading, full dress rehearsal, traffic regulation, refreshment for the students after the rehearsal and main function, illumination of government buildings, Duderhuma bridge, medical, sanitation and other emergencies were finalized.
After discussing the arrangements threadbare, keeping in view the weather conditions, the concerned departments were asked to make arrangements for heating and hot drinking water.
Invitation committee was directed to send invitation cards to all newly elected Panchs, Sarpanchs, and councilors, besides other dignitaries in the district.
It was decided that the main function will be held in the premises of Madri-e-Meharban ground, Ganderbal where the National Flag will be unfurled.
It was given out that several cultural and special themes based programmes will be presented by students from various schools during the function. Rehearsal of March Past and various Cultural programs shall be held on 21th, 22nd, and 23rd of January and full-dress rehearsal on 24th of January.
The meeting was further informed that awards will also be distributed among persons with remarkable contributions in various fields, for which the Prize Committee was directed to chalk out a list of meritorious persons in the district and arrange all the required mementoes to be awarded on the eve of Republic Day 2019.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to provide full-color full uniform and costumes to all the march past participants.
The meeting was informed that contingents of JKP, Army, CRPF, Fire & Emergency Services, students of government and private schools will participate in the march past parade.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Naseer Ahmad Wani, ASP Ganderbal, Fayaz Hussain, Joint Director Planning, Chief Medical officer, all Tehsildars of the district, Executive Engineers of PHE, RDD, I&FC and R&B, EO Municipality, DIO Ganderbal and other concerned were present in the meeting.
