Doda to have Childline Service soon

DODA, DECEMBER 17: District Doda will soon have the childline, India’s first 24-hour, toll free, emergency phone outreach service for children in need of care.

In this regard, the District Development Commissioner Anul Garg today chaired a meeting of officials of Indian Red Cross Society and line departments to review the prepardness for the implementation of the unique service in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishori Lal, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, CDPO and Executive Secretary DRCS.

It was emphasized upon all the organisations to work for the children in need of care and protection in close coordination and with added zeal and zest.

The meeting discussed various issues like Role of Childline, childline services (1098).

It was informed that childline, India’s first 24-hour, toll free, emergency phone outreach service for children in need of care and protection provides for linking them to long term services for their care and rehabilitation.
