Two Army soldiers were wounded in a shootout with the militants in Larve area of Kakapora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday night.
The incident comes less than an hour after the killing of a CRPF soldier in a militant strike in the same area.
Quoting a senior police official, news agency reported that an ambush was laid by a joint team of army and SOG in Larve.
“In the meantime, a group militants passing through the area had a standoff with the forces,” said the report, adding that two soldiers were wounded in the firing exchange.
Both the injured soldiers, he said, were shifted to a hospital where their condition is stated to be stable.
