Div Com Jammu reviews status of languishing projects of Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 18: In order to review progress of ongoing and languishing projects being taken up by different departments in the Udhampur District, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma chaired a meeting of district officers here today.

The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar, Additional District Development Commissioner, Arvind Sharma Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gurvinderjeet Singh Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SonuPargal PO IWMP, Angrez Singh PO ICDS, RimpyOhri, SE PWD (R&B), Des Raj besides Executive Engineers of PWD, PDD, PHE, PMGSY, REW, heads of various department besides other senior officers.

While reviewing the progress on various languishing projects and flagship schemes being executed under different sectors like PHE, PWD (R&B) Health, Sericulture, PMGSY, District Youth Services & Sports, PDD, Rural Development Department, Forest, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture etc, Div Com directed the concerned officers to take effective steps for timely completion of these projects for optimum results. He also asked to the concerned officers to further gear up their men and machinery for quality and timely completion of these development projects. He said thrust has to be laid on plantation under convergence mode to develop model fruit orchards and mulberry nurseries on state/private land to enhance the income of the farmers.

Div Com reviewed the status of Holy River Devika project, Construction of Subash Stadium, PMAY houses and Status of Nursing College, EOC building at District Head Quarter, Khelo India, Macadamization of roads etc.

DDC apprised Divisional Commissioner that under PMAY Yojana, against the target of 2449, 2367 beneficiaries have been registered in the district and 445 houses have been completed.

DDC informed that an amount of Rs. 134.87 crore has been sanctioned and 52 languishing projects have been approved which included construction of various bridges and roads, WSS, Health Infrastructure and Sports grounds in the district. He added that 131 languishing projects are in pipeline.
