SRINAGAR: Vice President of National Conference and Ex-Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah was invited by Governor to discuss the political situation in the state immediately after BJP decided to withdraw from the coalition govt.
Omar Abdullah, while talking to the press said that he has told the Governor in clear terms that NC did not win the people’s mandate to form a govt. in 2014, hence it does not have a mandate to form govt. in 2018 also.

Omar while denying the possibility of forming any coalition with any party for the moment, said that he has informed the Governor that the state should be put under Governor’s rule and NC will extend all help to the Governor in this regard.

However, he also added that the people of the state should be allowed to choose their govt. at the earliest possible opportunity and the state should not be put under an extended Governor’s rule.

While commenting on Mehbooba Mufti, he said that he had asked Mehbooba Mufti to quit a lot many times. ” It would have been better had she quit with her dignity intact, rather than being shunted out like this”, he added.
