The residents of Saderkoot Payeen in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday held a protest demonstration against shortage of potable water in the area.
The residents blocked Bandipora-Srinagar highway early morning, hampering traffic movements for hours together.
They said that Ganai Mohalla of Saderkoot Payeen is without potable water from last several days and they are suffering immensely for want of water.
“There is no potable water in the area from last one week even as we apprised the authorities many times but our pleas seem to have fallen on deaf ear. We have been forced to come out on roads to press for our demand, “said Tahir, a protestor.
The protests were going on when this report was filed.
