Jharkhand: Two Girls Call For Help, Friend Sends 11 Men to Rape Them

Two minor girls who were stranded on the Hirhi Railway bridge in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga district and called a friend for help were raped by at least 11 men who were sent to the alleged place by the friend itself. The 11 accused aged between 18 to 28 years raped the girls on August 16 while they were on their way to the Hirhi Harra Toli area along with their neighbour.

The police have arrested all the 11 accused after conducting raids in the Hirhi Harra Toli locality. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ashish Kumar Mahli confirmed the same and said that a case against the accused had been registered at the Sardar police station based on the girls’ statement. The police also recovered mobile phones from the house of one of the accused, said Mahli.

According to the police, the men took turns to rape the two girls after taking them to an isolated place. They also beat their neighbour and drove him away. The accused even snatched the mobile phones of the minor victims.

The case was headed and being probed by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Arvind Kumar Verma and DSP Mahli. Superintendent of Police Priyadarshi Alok formed this task force to investigate this particular case.
