Three girls were among four civilians injured during clashes near the site of a gunfight in Nadigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.
Reports said that three girls — Simran Jan, Meenu Jan and Rafia Jan suffered bullet injuries while Bilal Ahmad suffered pellet injury in an eye during clashes with the government forces.
A source said that Simran has suffered bullet injury in her abdomen while Meenu Jan and Rafia Jan have been hit by bullets in foot and leg respectively.
He said all the four persons were shifted to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.
Locals said that the forces fired live ammunition and pellets at the protesters pelting them with stones.
Earlier, four militants and a para commando were killed and three soldiers injured in the gunfight that broke out at 2 AM.
