Zirakpur, December 20: The police busted an inter-state flesh trade racket and arrested 11 persons — eight girls and three men, including the caretaker of a hotel in Baltana, Zirakpur, last night.
The racket was being run from 9City, a hotel, in Baltana. Following a tip-off that immoral activities were being run from the hotel, the police sent a decoy customer there to arrest the culprits red-handed.
Harmandeep Hans, ASP, Dera Bassi, said the Baltana police raided the hotel and arrested three men and eight women, who were allegedly involved in immoral activities.
The ASP said inter-state links of the racket were being probed. He said the manager, the caretaker and staff members of the hotel would be interrogated as the racket was being run in connivance with them.
Meanwhile, a case under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Trafficking Act has been registered against the suspects, Puneet Garg, a resident of New Delhi, Manoj Gupta, a resident of Panchkula, Suraj, a resident of UP and eight women at the Zirakpur police station.
