Livestock Census 2018: Training session for Supervisors, Enumerators held

KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 22: A training session for Supervisor and Enumerators of Animal Husbandry was held here today to sensitize them about 20th live Stock Census 2018.

The Master trainer Dr. Indu Bhushan and Dr. Rajan Sharma deliberated in detail about the aspects of 20th Live Stock Census 2018 through power point presentation.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kishtwar Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen said that it is a Digital India initiative, and for the first time in live Stock Census computer tablets were being used for online data entry for 20th Live Stock Census. The software will have all the tools to prepare analytical reports and real-time monitoring of census operation. He said that central govt. has set the target of doubling farmers’ income in the next 5 years and dairy sector will play a significant role in achieving the same.

Dr. Akhtar Hussain (VAS), Dr. Mubasshar Hussain (VAS), Shakir Butt (VAS) besides officers/ officials of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department Kishtwar were also present.

The Livestock census is conducted by Govt. of India Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in collaboration with Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries after every five years.
